A nominal capsule size is a starting reference. The space available to a toy depends on the real shell, its wall and its closure. Before ordering 50mm capsule toys in bulk, obtain samples of both the intended toy and the shell used in the machine program.
Separate three measurements
- Product dimensions: the toy itself, including protrusions and any moving parts in the packed position.
- Packed dimensions: the toy plus bag, tie, insert or other included material.
- Usable shell cavity: the space available after allowing for the shell wall and closure.
A product-size field cannot replace the packed measurement. A 45, 50 or 65 mm shell designation also cannot establish clearance at the seam or opening.
Approve the assembled capsule
- Place the exact toy, bag and insert in the selected shell.
- Close it without forcing the seam or trapping the bag.
- Check that the product keeps its intended condition after the agreed storage trial.
- Run the assembled sample through the actual machine and inspect dispensing.
- Record the shell version and accepted fill configuration together.
Soft material is not permission to compress a toy indefinitely. Fill containment, surface condition and recovery still need review. Rigid toys, attachments and decorative stems need their own clearance checks.

Make the assortment repeatable
Specify pieces per design in each refill carton. An illustrative 1,000-unit refill with five equally allocated designs contains 200 of each; a weighted series needs a different written schedule. If a design becomes unavailable, agree on a replacement before changing the ratio. Avoid leaving the selection to an undefined random mix.
Keep claw-machine buying separate
A claw prize is checked for gripping, release and prize-chute clearance. Provide the claw opening, target product weight and pack style, then trial the sample in the intended machine. Passing a capsule trial does not establish claw performance, or vice versa.
Build the reorder record
